Happy Birthday to me today. 47 – some days I feel 27 and some 107. Today ended up somewhere in the middle, right about the age I am at.
Much of the morning spent relaxing – opening cards and lazy breakfast, then getting ready for daughter’s dance recital which wasn’t til 1.30pm but there was quite a lot of time for procrastinating prior to that. The recital went beautifully, N and her BFF danced to perfection. Then we all headed to the club to eat, drink and be merry. My BFF had organized flowers and balloons for me, and after we had all stuffed our faces with yummy late lunch/early dinner – a humongous chocolate cake appeared, candles were lit, and the traditional happy-birthday-cha-cha-cha ensued.
It turned out to be a great day, and not too much time to think about missing R, though he is always on my mind.

Here is my day, as it happened.
Woke up and smelled the coffee….literally. Bought a bag of beans instead of pre-ground. Freshly ground is tedious but worth it for the aroma.
Good job we are planning on lots of smiles today.
Loving words from near and far.
A little procrastination goes a long way.
Picture Black and White – Shaping Up.
Almost ready for my close up, Mr DeMille.
Tap routine in the bag! Back to the dressing room and Dance Moms part 1.
Take a bow.
Pink roses for our tiny dancers.
Death by chocolate really doesn’t look so bad right now.
Early evening dog walk with the family. Beautiful sage in bloom, (just) like perfume….deep in the heart of Texas. Reminds me of, the one I love…….
Goodnight Moon.
The super moon ended what turned out to be a pretty super birthday, actually.
